In November 2011, Kim went to her 5:00 a.m. class at the gym.
She started to experience shortness of breath and heartburn symptoms within ten minutes of the class starting. She tried to continue with the class, but her symptoms persisted.
Kim left class early and drove herself home. By this time, she was very pale and felt nauseous. She called her family doctor, who told her to call 9-1-1. Never did she think she was having a heart attack.
The ambulance arrived and the EMS crew conducted an EKG in her home. The results were abnormal.
She was immediately taken to the hospital. At the hospital, she was told she was having a heart attack. She had a 100% blockage in her left anterior descending artery and needed two stents.
"The doctor said I was a lucky girl! If I would have chosen to stay home and not go to the hospital, I would not be here today." - Kim Collins
